If Portability is not main priority then iMac with 5k retina would be great option. Also with iMac you do not need to worry about backup. Heavy video editing, music production, graphics design drain battery at faster rate. So you need to plug in charger frequently which can affect battery of MacBook Pro. You have to customise iMac while purchasing because if you purchase iMac from store, you will get Quad core i5 and 8 GB RAM. So Customise iMac with 5k which has 3.5 GHz i5 processor. 1st model you can not upgrade in CPU. So I suggest customise iMac to 16 GB RAM and Quad core i7.
